I got to thinking about over the years all the \u2018favorite\u2019 restaurants I\u2019ve had. There\u2019s probably too many to list so I decided list my \u201cTop Ten.\u201d I imagine most of them are no longer in business, or if they are, they wouldn\u2019t make my top ten list today\u2026 and, if I made the list last week or next week, it would probably change a bit. But at least half of them would stay.<\/p>\n<p>Kings Lodge (Hong Kong)<br \/>\nEl Sombrero (Arlington, VA)<br \/>\nCafe Renaissance (Vienna, VA)<br \/>\nThe American Chinese Restaurant (Hong Kong)<br \/>\nChina Paradise (Vienna, VA)<br \/>\nOscars (Monrovia, Liberia)<br \/>\nQuite Cannon ( between Los Angeles and San Diego)<br \/>\nThe Ship (Kuala Lumpur)<br \/>\nDutch\u2019s Daughter (Frederick, MD)<br \/>\nKazu (Shepherdstown, WV)<\/p>\n<p>So what makes a favorite restaurant? Not sure I can answer that question, but restaurants are important \u2014 usually the best ones, or our favorites are reserved for special occasions and our memories of those occasions almost always include those restaurants.<br \/>\nBut I think a restaurant becomes a favorite because of who I was with or what was being celebrated.<br \/>\n\u2014 30 \u2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We went out to eat this past week at one of our favorite restaurants.
