Lots of things have happened in the world and in our household in the past couple of months \u2014 some of which I\u2019ll probably mention in this forum, some I won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, today is Mother\u2019s Day \u2014 a holiday founded by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia on May 10, 1908. It was made a national holiday in 1914 by President Wilson. Interestingly, Anna Jarvis filed a lawsuit in an effort to stop the over-commercialization of Mother\u2019s Day. As you can probably surmise \u2014 she lost. Anna had hoped the day would be a day of reflection and quiet prayer by families, thanking God for all that mothers had done.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve probably heard that Mother\u2019s Day is the busiest phone day of the year with people making in excess of 122.5 million phone calls. It\u2019s also a big card giving day \u2014 estimated number of Mother\u2019s Day cards this year is 152 million.<\/p>\n<p>Claire is a mother, a Godmother, a grandmother, and a mother-in-law, so she\u2019s pretty well got the bases covered.<br \/>\nHappy Mother\u2019s day to Claire \u2014 and all the other mothers\u2026.<br \/>\n\u2014 30 \u2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Probably not many people have noticed, but I haven\u2019t updated this blog in quite a while.
