{"id":695,"date":"2016-02-22T15:01:25","date_gmt":"2016-02-22T15:01:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=695"},"modified":"2016-02-22T15:01:25","modified_gmt":"2016-02-22T15:01:25","slug":"be-humble-and-have-a-margarita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=695","title":{"rendered":"Be Humble and have a Margarita"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is another busy February holiday\u2026 not only is it George Washington\u2019s <em>real<\/em> birthday, it\u2019s also National Margarita Day and Be Humble Day. It should be obvious why on February 22nd every year we honor not only George Washington but also pay tribute to and honor the margarita \u2014 and \u2014 it\u2019s easy to celebrate the two. Be Humble Day on the other hand\u2026<\/p>\n<p>We all know people that are self-centered and need to be reminded that it&#8217;s not all about you! So, if you know someone that always talks about themselves and their accomplishments and never bothers to ask about what\u2019s going on in your life, today is the day to remind them that it&#8217;s Be Humble Day. Maybe, for just this one day, they can manage to be humble.<\/p>\n<p>Humbleness is a good trait to have \u2014 it\u2019s a fact that some people are smarter, better educated, more traveled and even nicer looking than others. But that doesn\u2019t make it right to gloat\u2026.<br \/>\nSo today is a good day for us all to remember to have respect for others and show some humility.<\/p>\n<p>Ernest Hemingway once said, \u201cThere is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.\u201d But I rather like, \u201cTrue humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.\u201d C. S.
