Here it is your birthday again \u2014 the second time I\u2019ve had to celebrate it without you. Life hasn\u2019t gotten any easier \u2014 I still miss you just as much every single day. I miss everything about you. As I was tossing around in bed last night, I got to thinking about all the things I miss about you and it occurred to me that one thing I miss is how others used to say your name. Most people don\u2019t mention your name \u2014 I need to have you mentioned like you were before. I don\u2019t know why that\u2019s important to me, but it is \u2014 I wish people understood.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But today\u2019s your birthday and just know I\u2019ll be celebrating \u2014 I have your favorite wine to share. I know what you think of my poetry, but I\u2019ll try just one more time\u2026. I know you\u2019ll roll your eyes, but I know you\u2019ll also smile \u2014 that\u2019s enough for me.\u00a0

Gee, I wish you were here today \u2014 for even just a little while
We could celebrate your birthday together and I could see your loving smile.
We shared a great life together \u2014 I thought it\u2019d be forever, you see
I didn\u2019t take it for granted and never thought I\u2019d lose you and all you meant to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No gift for you, but great ones for me \u2014 memories of you left behind.
When I think of you, I remember the joy and happiness you left in my heart and mind.
I look at your pictures and think of you with love
And I know you\u2019re doing fine in Heaven up above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll spend your birthday wishing that you were here
I wish you could join me in this toast to you and help me wipe away my every\u00a0 tear.
I hope you\u2019re having a party and the Angels are singing you a happy song
