{"id":4194,"date":"2024-06-29T16:43:38","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T16:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=4194"},"modified":"2024-06-29T16:43:39","modified_gmt":"2024-06-29T16:43:39","slug":"unsinkable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=4194","title":{"rendered":"Unsinkable"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I\u2019ve always heard that the Titanic&nbsp; was advertised as \u201cunsinkable.\u201d But I ran across an article the other day that indicated that the story of the ship that was billed as unsinkable going down on her maiden voyage isn\u2019t exactly true.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The White Star Line never advertised that the Titanic \u2014 or her sister ship Olympic \u2014 were unsinkable. They promoted the ships by claiming that the two ships were the \u201clargest and finest steamers in the world.\u201d Apparently the <em>supposed<\/em> advertising of the Titanic as unsinkable was the work of a reporter after the Titanic sank.
