Tonight is the first game of this year\u2019s World Series. I can\u2019t say I\u2019m particularly excited about it, but I\u2019ll probably watch at least some of it \u2014 after all, it is the World Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Arizona Diamondbacks vs. the Texas Rangers isn\u2019t a matchup very many people would ever have expected. The Texas Rangers won 90 games and were the fifth seed in the AL. The Diamondbacks won 84 games and were the last team in the playoff field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rangers are making their third trip to the World Series. They played the Giants in 2010 and the Cardinals in 2011. The Diamondbacks have only been in the World Series once before \u2014 that was in 2001, but they won, beating the Yankees in seven games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I mentioned that rangers have never won a World Series. How many other teams can claim that honor<\/em>?
