It\u2019s celebrated every year on February 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Wine-Day.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3426\" width=\"129\" height=\"128\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Wine-Day.jpg 200w, http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Wine-Day-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 129px) 100vw, 129px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>National Drink Wine Day was started to celebrate the love of wine. Drinking wine not only leads to great times with friends, but there at at least 8 possible benefits from drinking one or two four-ounce glasses of wine a day. I found this on the Internet, so it must be true\u2026.<br>\u2022 Longevity (wine drinkers have a 34 percent lower mortality rate than beer or spirit drinkers)<br>\u2022 Reduces Heart-Attack Risk (moderate drinkers suffering from high blood pressure are 30 percent less likely to have a heart attack than nondrinkers)<br>\u2022 Lowers Risk of Heart Disease (red-wine tannins contain procyanidins, which protect against heart disease)<br>\u2022 Reduces Risk of Type 2 Diabetes (moderate drinkers have 30 percent less risk than nondrinkers of developing Type 2 Diabetes)<br>\u2022 Lowers Risk of Stroke (the possibility of suffering a blood clot-related stroke drops by about 50 percent in people who consume moderate amounts of alcohol)<br>\u2022 Cuts Risk of Cataracts (moderate drinkers are 32 percent less likely to get cataracts than nondrinkers; those who consume wine are 43 percent less likely to develop cataracts than those drinking mainly beer)<br>\u2022 Cuts Risk of Colon Cancer (moderate consumption of wine (especially red) cuts the risk of colon cancer by 45 percent)<br>\u2022 Slows Brain Decline (brain function declines at a markedly faster rate in nondrinkers than in moderate drinkers)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 8 types of red wines: Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot noir, Zinfandel, Sangiovese and Barbera.<br>There are 7 types of white wines: Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Semillion, Moscato, Pinot grigio, Gew\u00fcrztraminer, and Riesling.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Claire cooks with wine \u2014 sometimes she even adds it to the food.<br>So how to celebrate this day should be obvious, but sometimes the best way to celebrate National Drink Wine Day is to just kick back and relax with a glass of your favorite wine.<br>A good day starts with good coffee and ends with good wine.<br>So raise a glass and cheers to National Drink Wine Day!<br>\u2014 30 \u2014<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s a lot of special days in the month of February, but today is one of my favorites \u2014 it\u2019s National Drink Wine Day!
