I like the muffins and it\u2019s an easy breakfast \u2014 just eat them, or, if they\u2019re frozen, pop them in the microwave for a few seconds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not sure how this subject came up, but it did and a friend told me that muffins are just ugly cupcakes. I\u2019m not sure if that observation was made to offend me or just made to see where the conversation would go. But it did get me to thinking\u2026. I guess maybe it\u2019s kind of true. But I like muffins and I like cupcakes \u2014 and \u2014 I\u2019ve always heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I figured this was a good subject for some extensive research \u2014 you may not be surprised that I found absolutely no data that would support calling a muffin an ugly cupcake. But \u2014 I did run across some interesting stuff\u2026 a lot of states have official foods of some sort, like official state cookies or cakes, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a muffin fan, you may want to jot down this information\u2026.<br>I understand that this may be startling news to you, but I\u2019m pretty sure that no state has an official state cupcake \u2014 but muffins are another story.\u00a0<br>Three states have passed legislation making certain types of muffins official in their states:<br>Minnesota\u00a0 \u2014 Blueberry Muffin<br>Massachusetts \u2014 Corn Muffin<br>New York \u2014 Apple Muffin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four states have unofficially declared state muffins, but legislation to make it official is pending:<br>Hawaii \u2014 Coconut Muffin<br>California \u2014 Poppyseed Muffin<br>Texas \u2014 Chocolate Chip Muffin<br>Washington \u2014 Blueberry Muffin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(I\u2019m a little concerned that Washington is contemplating the Blueberry Muffin after it has already been claimed by Minnesota.
