Today, of course, is set aside to recognize the world\u2019s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage \u2014 it\u2019s the third most popular drink in the world (after water and tea.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National Beer Day was created by Justin Smith, a Richmond, Virginia Craft Beer Examiner, and his friend Mike Connolly, from Liverpool, England.
