Maybe it\u2019s just me, but the Washington routine is getting old\u2026 maybe they need some new material. Seems recently \u2014 with Hurricane Florence wrecking havoc in the Carolinas, the earthquake\/tsunami in Indonesia, the uncertainty of the Supreme Court Justice nomination and all the other important\/serious issues kicking around, it\u2019s been all about good and evil in Washington\u2026 the President is good, the press is evil, the Republicans are good, the Democrats are evil,<\/p>\n
I grew up being taught that things (and people) were good and\/or bad. Evil was a term I never heard much when I was younger. It seems it\u2019s being used more lately. I\u2019ve heard that there is a good force in the universe and a bad, or evil, one and that they are at war. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s true\u2026 the \u201cforce\u201d appears to be used more since the popularity of \u2018Star Wars\u2019. I\u2019m \u201ckind of\u201d of the belief that there are good people and bad or evil people \u2014 I\u2019m not sure about this war of the forces.
\nBut I suspect that most of us are a mixture of good and bad.<\/p>\n
A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles this way: \u201cInside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time.\u201d When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, \u201cThe one I feed the most.\u201d I couldn\u2019t have said it better\u2026.
