I try to follow the news on a daily basis, even though it\u2019s getting more depressing most of the time. One term that appears pretty much daily is \u201ccollision.\u201d To be honest, when the word started cropping up so often over a year ago, I had to look it up to be sure what it really meant.<\/p>\n
\u201cCollusion is an agreement between two or more parties, sometimes illegal \u2014 but always secretive \u2014 to limit open competition by deceiving, misleading, or defrauding others of their legal right, or to obtain an objective forbidden by law typically by defrauding or gaining an unfair market advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n
So the definition of collusion is almost always defined as activities performed in the business world. Of course we hear the term mostly in relation to the Trump-Russia saga. That only adds to my confusion \u2014 the word just doesn\u2019t seem to fit because the news discussions alway seem to refer to either criminal or counter intelligence activities.<\/p>\n
Seems to me the discussions about whether or not agreements between the Trump campaign and Russia to commit crimes (e.g., election fraud) that are ongoing would be better described by using the word \u201cconspiracy.\u201d
\nBut \u2014 that\u2019s just my view\u2026
