{"id":1101,"date":"2017-12-30T18:58:54","date_gmt":"2017-12-30T18:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=1101"},"modified":"2017-12-30T18:58:54","modified_gmt":"2017-12-30T18:58:54","slug":"genius","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jimmy.ekota.net\/?p=1101","title":{"rendered":"Genius"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought today would be a good time to site yet another example that our grandkids are probably the smartest kids in the world \u2014 I think they take after me\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago we were at Dave and Chassie\u2019s house and I was playing with Locke. I just watched as he put together a wooden train track all by himself. (The track had straight and curved pieces and he was able to put it together with lots of curves and it all hooked together in one big loop.)<\/p>\n<p>After he pushed the train around it a few times, he wanted to build an overpass (actually, I guess it was an underpass for the train to go through. I helped him a little bit and we made one out of legos. He liked that a lot and wanted another one \u2014 again, we made another out of legos. Of course that wasn\u2019t enough, so instead of asking for another, he said, \u201clet\u2019s make a <em>third<\/em> one.\u201d Now, I\u2019m not easily impressed, but the fact that a 3-year old knew that adding one more to the two we\u2019d already made, was referred to as the third \u2014 not \u201cthree\u201d or \u201canother one,\u201d but third\u2026 I thought was pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>I told myself that this blog wouldn\u2019t turn into a granddad \u201cbrag book\u201d but I\u2019m old \u2014 you guys should indulge me occasionally.
